Insurance Verification & Intake Specialist
INSURANCE VERIFICATION & INTAKE SPECIALIST St.
Paul & Biddle Medical Associates is seeking a friendly and organized Insurance Verification & Intake Specialist to join our growing healthcare team in our downtown Baltimore Office.
Your primary job duties will be verifying patient demographic information and insurance information, compiling information necessary to generate insurance claims and third-party bills, and processing paperwork.
Duties and Responsibilities.
Verify insurance information for new and existing patients with patients, insurance companies, and/or attorneys; coordinate with satellite office staff to ensure that insurance information is properly recorded.
Communicate with patients, providers, attorneys, and other healthcare organizations in order to obtain up-to-date patient information as needed; answer phones and field inquiries associated with patient records and bills.
Enter patient demographic and insurance information and scan documents into patient electronic medical record as needed to prepare claims and statements to be billed.
Ensure that all required paperwork from patient charts has been obtained for billing purposes; coordinate with other colleagues to ensure that patient records are complete.
Assist billing team with claim preparation and submission and payment posting as needed Requirements and Qualifications.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a certificate program in the medical field preferred.
Strong attention to detail.

years of experience working in insurance verification / medical billing.
Familiar with medical terminology.
Enjoy speaking with and working with different groups of people.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Windows 10, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat/PDF).
Familiar with electronic medical record software and online document management systems Job Type:
