ResponsibilitiesWork with Technical Team to introduce new mold designs, tooling and processes that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Develop scientifically based processes and generate documentation to ensure run consistency of quality and efficiency via established process specifications.
Provide engineering feedback on new designs to insure process capability and review and testing of new materials.
Participate in mold design reviews prior to mold build.
Provide technical support to manufacturing for capability issues, technical improvements, and daily processing activities.
May be involved with auxiliary equipment to support molding operation such as robots, pickers, closing machines, etc.
Lead and/or participate on cross functional teams to help achieve operational goals.
Provide oversight and guidance to Molding Technicians and productions mechanics.
Train employees, provide feedback on performance, assign and direct work as needed.
Support injection molding process control and capability using scientific molding principles.
Support implementation of RJG Scientific/Decoupled Molding processes.
Drive molding process improvements to include cycle time efficiencies, cavitation, scrap reduction, and establishment of optimal processing parameters.
Provide technical support for new tooling qualifications and process capability studies.
Support process improvement, reduction of downtime, cost reduction, and corrective action teams.
Assist in the set-up, repair, and troubleshooting of Injection Molding equipment.
Support Company Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals Assist in coordinating the processing aspect of mold moves into the Baltimore Plant from other facilities.
Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsB.
S.
Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Plastics Engineering and 3
years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of plastic injection molding process, machines, and resins utilizing PP, HDPE, PS Familiar with Hot Runner Designs (Husky, Mold Master, Full Hot, Semi Hot, Valve Gate Technology,) Familiar with high cavitation strip and unscrewing molds.
Knowledge and application of scientific molding principals.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of automation, robots, and vision systems.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, scientific and technical journals and procedures Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, management, and customers.
Proficiency with MS office (word, spreadsheets), database applications, e-mail and internet research.
Excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership ability.
Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced production environment.
Capable of physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting (up to 50 pounds periodically) Capable of visual acuity to include distinguishing color variation and detecting defects.
Able to work safely in a production environment around moving mechanical parts, recognizing various sounds and alarms.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
