WILL CONSIDER LT 1, LT 2, OR LTCP CANDIDATES Position
Summary:
The Clinical Laboratory Technician, reports to Supervisor, Lead Laboratory Technician, or Technologist-in-charge.
Performs laboratory tests/ waived laboratory tests (which may include but not limited to:
Occult and Gastric Blood tests, Urine PH and Urine volume determination).
Processing samples which may include accessioning, receiving, aliquoting, and labeling samples; as well as participating in review of laboratory activities.
May operate and maintain automated pre-analytical instrumentation (example:
Modular Pre Analytic (MPA) or Cobas automated storage and retrieval system).
Accurately records and reports results.
Maintains established levels of supplies and inventory.
Responsible for initiating or verifying that proper actions are taken to resolve problems.
Reviews lab requisitions for accuracy and collects pertinent clinical and insurance information.
May be responsible for entry of patient and laboratory information into assigned systems.
May perform data entry, processing of specimens, both for in-house and referrals; billing functions, and all pre-analytic set ups (may be required to process lab payments).
Participates in Quality Assurance initiatives.
Provides feedback to leadership regarding laboratory processes and participates in Process Improvement Initiatives.
Phlebotomy and Arterial Blood collection may also required.
Maintains high level of competency for all skills and knowledge required.
Participates in training new employees and in auditing laboratory work flows and performance.
Exceptional customer service; communicating with patients, medical providers, and laboratory & hospital staff in clear, concise, and compassionate manner.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent including high school level course work in biology, chemistry, and mathematics.
Completion of accredited laboratory or phlebotomy courses, highly desired.
Work
Experience:
Two years (full-time) on-the-job or outside experience as Laboratory Technician, and successful demonstration of the required skills .
OR 6 months minimum experience as a Laboratory Technician with a verified Phlebotomy Certification (completed accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant course and passed exam for ASCP, IAPT, IAPS, or other Department of Pathology recognized certification) may be considered in lieu of 2
years' experience.
With successful demonstration of the required skills Certification must be kept active/verified if used in lieu of experience in LT2 position.
OR 6 months minimum experience as a Laboratory Technician with related Associates or Bachelor's degree in science or healthcare.
With successful demonstration of the required skills .
OR Clinical Laboratory Science students enrolled in their final year of a 4 year accredited program may work as Clinical Laboratory Tech II/non-certified Phlebotomist and perform moderate complexity testing under the supervision of an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician/Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
