Corporate Product Development Manager Manages the Corporate Product Development department in providing product design, development, and maintenance support, assisting in maintaining uniformity and consistency in product design across programs, preparing insurance department filings, and in maintaining and communicating applicable/required forms, endorsements, rates, rules to ensure compliance with carrier filings and state regulations Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field Work Experience Advanced insurance training completed, CPCU and JD preferred Minimum of five (5) years property and casualty commercial lines product development experience Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience Special Skills & Knowledge Must have extensive working knowledge of ISO products, forms, endorsements, manuals, and rules for all property and casualty commercial lines of business Expertise in drafting proprietary coverage forms, endorsements, policy declarations, rules, and underwriting guidelines Experience with preparing insurance department filings and responding to insurance department filing questions Familiar with insurance department rules and regulations governing coverage forms, endorsements, rules, and policy declarations Ability to quickly comprehend new insurance products and changes to existing insurance products Strong verbal and grammatical ability required to draft and explain coverage forms, endorsements, rules, policy declarations, and underwriting guidelines Equipped with good motivational, communication and presentation skills to effectively motivate and communicate to varying levels of associates, insurance company partners, and insurance department personnel Strong organizational skills and ability to handle tasks on a priority basis required to maintain consistent high quality and to meet short and long term objectives Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professional demeanor and approach in the performance of duties Ability to function as a team player and work closely in support of Program Managers Ability and desire to supervise others and organize workload and delegate appropriately Ability to make decisions within scope of authority Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office products Job Requirements:
Essential Duties/Responsibilities Responsible for drafting and developing new or revised forms, endorsements, policy declarations, and associated proprietary rules Coordinates the implementation of product changes/rewrites with Program Managers, Program Operations Services, Actuarial, and IT departments.
Leads product development, design, and rewrite meetings for all insurance programs Monitors product design/structure across programs to assist in creating and maintaining uniformity and consistency as much as possible Manages the maintenance and communication of applicable forms, endorsements, rates, and rules to Program Operations Services and IT to ensure compliance with carrier filings including adoption of ISO reference filings Coordinates communication to carrier of requested product, form, or endorsement filings for all programs Manages the entry of all program forms into the Specimen Policy On-line Database (SPOD) and the entry of all proprietary program rules into the Online Compliance Manual (OCM) Responsible for evaluating the impact of statutory changes on each program, and advising of the impact, including underwriting guidelines (Uninsured and Underinsured Motorists Coverage) Manages the tracking and communication of carrier and ISO activity with relation to rates, rules, forms and endorsements Manages the preparation of filings for all programs to be submitted to insurance carrier partners and state insurance departments including preparation of actual documentation and responding to insurance department questions Manages the communication of state approvals to appropriate associates during filing and approval processes Manages the market review of competitor filings and update of competitor coverage comparison charts and assures entry of these updates into the Market Intelligence SharePoint site Provides due diligence support during review of potential new programs.
Is an active member of the Product Innovation Committee, providing updates regarding market intelligence and status of Product Development projects Prepares annual performance reviews of department associates in accordance with established corporate guidelines.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
