Health Specialist

Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate programs and initiatives in the assigned specialty area of research. Review data and progress reports, and implement corrective actions needed to achieve adequate research progress. Participate in the development of Program Announcements, Requests for Applications, and Requests for Proposals in areas of research. Provide technical assistance to lower graded professionals on the use of complex statistical and epidemiologic techniques. Assist in the preparation of papers and reports for presentation to professional groups and for publication in professional journals. Education Requirement:
In order to qualify for a Health Specialist, GS-0601, position you must have successfully completed a full 4 year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree or graduate/higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. (This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained). Additional Qualification Requirements:
In order to qualify for a Health Specialist, 0601 at the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks:
analyzing trends in grants and contracts to determine scientific priorities relevant to research programs; planning and delivering quality control programs to identify inconsistencies in research data; preparing written analyses and technical reports to communicate the results of public health research, and advising scientific staff on grant mechanisms and funding opportunities. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
