PMA Agile Research Data Manager
Performance Monitoring and Accountability 2020 (PMA2020) is a five-year project funded by theBill and Melinda Gates Foundation that is designed to facilitate annual progress reporting in supportof the goals and principles of FP2020. The project will support low-cost, rapid-turnaround householdand facility surveys to routinely update national indicators on family planning and water andsanitation in 10 countries in Asia and Africa.
Year 1 Countries:
Ghana, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, and DR Congo
Year 2 Countries:
Burkina Faso, Nigeria, India (UP and Bihar), Indonesia, and Niger
Year 3 Countries:
Cote D'Ivoire
An expansion project, PMA Agile, is a three-year project to build a monitoring and evaluationplatform for large-scale projects that will enable near-continuous tracking of performance andprogress toward the projects' intended results. PMA Agile will do this by collecting health facilityand client data in selected urban areas and create a flexible, user-friendly dashboard integratingrelevant family planning data from surveys, HMIS data, and linked project records. PMA Agilecountries currently include:
Kenya, Nigeria, Niger, Burkina Faso, Cote I'voire, and India.
Both projects are housed the Bill and Melinda Gates Institute for Population Health at the JohnsHopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Department of Population, Family and ReproductiveHealth and are implemented by local university and research organizations in the project countries inAfrica and Asia.
PMA is seeking a full-time Research Data Manager to support data managementand analysis activities across all project countries, for both PMA and Agile. TheResearch Data Manager will work with the existing PMA2020 data managementteam and provide supportive supervision to in-country data managers for Agile,including conducting international trainings on data management and analysiswith project partners and affiliates.
Other responsibilities include:
building and maintain data monitoring systems for new topic areas, monitoring quality and rapidity of data collection, developing and updating training materials,developing and updating analysis protocols, and working on analyses with project partners andaffiliates. The data manager may also assist with the generation of reports and data briefs and assistwith analysis of data for auxiliary publications.
The Research Data Manager will report to the Associate Director for Research for PMA withadditional oversight from the Agile Project Director. The data manager will also assist with anyadditional data management, analysis, or technical support needs that arise across the umbrella ofPMA projects.
