Job Description:
Define and execute robust vision for effectively implementing leading commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) BI applications like SAS EBI, BusinessObjects and MicroStrategy for healthcare analytics.
Architect, develop and maintain complex and advanced BI capabilities such as semantic layers, OLAP cubes, universes, predefined reports, data visualization, access, capacity and performance management.
Participate in various requirements sessions with internal and external stakeholders and convert business / functional requirements into technical solutions, along with supporting materials such as use cases, designs, flowcharts, models, specifications, and reports.
Provide technical support to requirements, development, testing, help desk, and training teams.
Work directly with users, client, and project team to develop end-user training and reference materials.
Interact with the database team to ensure data integrity and optimize end-user experience and performance and interpret error logs to debug and correct code.
Follow the corporate and program SDLC and quality guidelines, as well as adhere to industry regulations and compliance requirements.
Draft standards and procedures affecting data analysis and process modeling and documentation, and database design, maintenance, and management.
Serve as subject matter expert on the BI data warehousing environment, supporting initiatives such as security, data growth, performance, platform upgrades, support agreements, disaster recovery, as well as user requests.
Provide support to users with formulating queries and understanding the data contained in the data warehouse.
Conduct performance tuning reviews for improvements to high volume BI environments and prepare written reports of findings, including recommendations and cost justification analysis.
Interview, train and coach team members.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor''s degree in engineering, computer science, statistics or equivalent.

years of expert level, hands-on experience with SAS BASE / EBI / EG / EM / ODS / BI Dashboard / Information Delivery Portal / Information Map Studio /OLAP, as well as data step programming (implicit/explicit do loop control, functions, formats, informats, hash tables, date time handling and macro language/macro variables).

years of experience with advanced Business Objects programming and administration.

years of experience with advanced SQL programming and/or database administration.
Expert level experience and knowledge with semantic layer and reports development.
Ability to analyze project requirements and develop detailed specifications and designs for new BI capabilities, while balancing cost, performance, quality and schedule demands.
Strong understanding of research methodology and statistical methods as applied to healthcare claims data and codes as published by CPT, ICD, HCPCS, and DRG manuals.
Practical experience with high volume data mining or competitive intelligence, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, forecasting, or econometrics.
Ability to interpret complex data and communicate it in an effective manner leveraging advanced reporting and visualization techniques.
Effectively demonstrate a working knowledge of decision and intelligence systems concepts, and database structures such as ETL, normalization, datamarts, fact tables, dimensions, views, cubes, olap, rolap, rbac, star and snowflake schemas.
Excellent analytical skills with recognizing data patterns, identify potential issues and producing solutions.
Vast experience with advanced statistical sampling techniques such as extrapolation, stratification, random sampling, trending, as well as cluster, outlier and network analysis.
Ability to standardize, harmonize, clean, prepare and use data for developing datasets, reporting and analysis.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, be a team player, and be well organized and efficient with excellent judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Desired Skills & Experience
Master's degree in an appropriate analytic field (such as Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, Informatics, or Services Research).
Experience with Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) systems, Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) systems, Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Integrated Data Repository, and CMS fraud detection and prevention solutions.
Experience with Teradata, MicroStrategy, or IBM Portal/WAS.
Knowledge of the Medicare FFS claims processing systems and business procedures.
Past experience as a Zone Program Integrity Contractor (ZPIC), Program Safeguard Contractor (PSC), or Medicare Drug Integrity Contractor (MEDIC) highly desirable.
Experience working in an Agile and/or CMMI SDLC.
Knowledge of Section 508 Accessibility requirements as applied to report output and system design.
Experience with automated functional and load testing tools, such as HP Quality Center, HP Unified Functional Testing and HP Load Runner.
Experience with performance monitoring software such as CA Wily Introscope and other tools such as PTS Integrity Application Lifecycle Management (MKS) and Microsoft SharePoint.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
