Establish and monitor user access and security
Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide fast query responses to front-end users
Map out the conceptual design for a planned database in outline
Refine logical designs so that they can be translated into specific data models
Refine physical designs to meet system storage requirements
Install and test new versions of the DBMS
Maintain data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act
Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata)
Control access permissions and privileges
Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans
Ensure that storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures are functioning correctly
Perform capacity planning
Work closely with IT project managers and database programmers
Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
Bachelor's or preferably Master's degree in relevant field
Minimum of 10 years of directly related experience
Good understanding of the Microsoft SQL Server database, related utilities and tools;
Microsoft SQL Server certification a plus
A good understanding of Unix and Windows operating systems
A good knowledge of the physical database design
A good understanding of data warehousing fundamentals
Ability to perform MS SQL Server performance tuning and monitoring
Knowledge of all MS SQL Server backup and recovery scenarios
Knowledge of MS SQL Server security management
Knowledge of how MS SQL Server acquires and manages resources
Knowledge of MS SQL Server data integrity
Knowledge of MS SQL Server replication techniques
Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle:
A sound knowledge of both database and system performance tuning
Good communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators
Provide strategic database direction for the organization
Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
