Job Description
Lockheed Martin delivers services and technical leadership for mission-critical federal government, public sector, and private sector programs. This position is in the IS&GS; Civil organization supporting our customer, the Social Security Administration. The position is located in Baltimore, on the west side of town near 695, Route 26, and Security Blvd. We are responsible for providing a full range of IT integration services and supporting a multi-platform computing environment.
Candidate will be part of a team responsible for the day to day operations of an environment of about 650 users. Responsibilities will include: Desktop management to include imaging & deployment, software installation, system configuration. Management of Windows 2003 & 2008 File and print servers. Management of Microsoft SQL servers with reporting services & managing backup systems. Managing RedHat / CENTOS Systems. Candidate will also be responsible for managing active directory user, machine and group accounts, troubleshooting of networking issues and inventory control. Some overt time and off-hours support would be required.
New Hire and Rehire candidates for this position will be offered the LMOS benefit program. Internal candidates for this position will be able to retain their current benefit program if they are participating in the LMOS, LMES or Corporate benefit programs currently. Other internal candidates will be offered the LMOS benefit program.
Basic Qualifications
The candidate should possess current, hands-on experience with:
Significant experience administering and troubleshooting Windows 7 systems.
Building, administering and troubleshooting Windows Server 2003 & 2008, Windows 7 systems.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory.
Strong understanding of Symantec Backup Exec (Disk to Disk to Tape) and ability to troubleshoot backup problems.
Extensive background with installing, configuring and maintaining Redhat/Centos Linux systems.
Create / build Redhat packages experience with yum or apt-get for installing updates.
Experience with setting up local yum repositories.
Strong knowledge of HP server hardware & RAID disk subsystems .
Understanding of SMTP, DHCP, DNS, TCPIP subnets, LDAP.
Understanding of Scalable WinInstall, Microsoft SCCM, or similar tools.
Understand the basics of SQL database design including the ability to read ERDs and create SQL queries.
Strong knowledge of Windows scripting - PowerShell, VBScript, DOS batch files.
Ability to script and automate tasks in a variety of languages (bash, Perl, python, etc)
Familiarity with Cisco routers and switches.
Ability to troubleshoot networking issues by diagnosing WAN/LAN connectivity problems by troubleshooting Cisco router, switch or firewall configurations. Must be able to communicate issues to network support staff when required.
Familiarity with HTML and T-SQL required, knowledge of ASP .NET in web programming is a plus.
The candidate must possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
All employees must be able to pass a Federal Suitability Check for a position of public trust.
Desired skills
Experience with change management and disaster recovery concepts and tools.
Expert diagnostic and troubleshooting skills of highly integrated complex environments.
Familiarity with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).
Familiarity with Microsoft IIS Server management and configuration.
The ability to self-direct and work independently and mentor other staff members is greatly beneficial.
Experience with formal project management methodologies and tools are a plus.
Experience working as a government contractor.
Experience working with SSA customer.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
