Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Estimator, you will be responsible for:
Preparing detailed cost estimates for our projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts. Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates. Conducting site visits and gathering all necessary data to produce accurate estimates. Reviewing design options and recommending best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, and availability of materials. Participating in proposal preparation and client presentations. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project and ensure estimates are accurate and competitive. Maintaining current knowledge of market trends, costs, and other factors that may impact estimates.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
A minimum of 3
years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry. Proven experience with single-family homes, townhomes, and historical renovations. A well-rounded skill set, including excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment. The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in relevant software, such as estimating, project management, and spreadsheet applications. A friendly, team-oriented attitude and the ability to enjoy a casual beer with colleagues after work.
