They are seeking a talented and experienced Project Architect with a strong background in public safety projects to join their team in Baltimore, MD.
The ideal candidate will have 3-8
years of experience in architectural design, with a specific focus on public safety facilities such as police stations, fire stations, emergency response centers, and correctional facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of public safety projects from concept through construction documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and interdisciplinary teams to understand project requirements, goals, and constraints.
- Prepare and present design proposals, renderings, and other visualizations to communicate design concepts effectively.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful project delivery.
- Conduct site visits, evaluations, and assessments to inform design decisions and resolve technical challenges.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material samples, and other submittals to maintain design integrity and quality standards.
- Participate in construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs, conducting site meetings, and addressing field issues as they arise.
- Mentor junior staff members and provide guidance and support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Licensed Architect in the state of Maryland preferred- 3-8
years of experience in architectural design, with a focus on public safety projects preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design software.
- Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and ADA requirements.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with government agencies, municipalities, and public sector clients is a plus.
