The Sustainability Reporting & Communications Manager will report to the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) and be responsible for developing our annual sustainability report and driving company communications.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about sustainability and possess sustainability subject matter expertise, exceptional storytelling and writing skills and have prior experience in both sustainability reporting and communications.
Essential Job
Responsibilities:
Reporting & Engagement:
Lead all aspects of annual Sustainability report development, assurance, launch, and communication.
Co-lead information collection, analysis, and verification in partnership with CSO and cross-functional team.
Serve as the company subject matter expert for Sustainability reporting standards (eg, GRI, SASB, UNSDG) Provide annual gap analysis and lead the improvement opportunities with a cross functional team.
Lead the report third party assurance process with a cross functional team.
Be the key contact for reporting to ESG platforms and questionnaires.
Work with the CSO to develop and execute the community engagement strategy and framework.
Work with cross functional team to develop capabilities for community engagement, execution & tracking.
Communications:
Develop communication strategies & programs to promote Synagro's business.
Lead planning and execution for internal and external communication efforts.
Serve as a subject matter expert, content creator and lead editor for the company's messaging and storytelling.
Manage all communications platforms such as website, social media, presentations, PPT, external outreach, etc.
Support crisis communication issues, as needed in conjunction with the CSO and other key stakeholdersEducation, Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in sustainability, communications, or a related field 3
years relevant sustainability reporting and communications work experience.
Experience in sustainability reporting standards and frameworks (ie, GRI, SASB, TCFD, UN SDG, etc.
).
Ability to clearly communicate complex sustainability messages in a simple, compelling and accurate manner.
Knowledge of sustainability topics such as climate, agriculture, conservation, biodiversity, social impact, etc.
Superior project management skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills - written, visual, and verbal.
Knowledge of the environmental services, waste and / or agricultural business is a plus.
Recommended Skills Attention To Detail Community Management Presentations Project Management Social Media Sustainability Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
