Summary:
WRA is seeking a Senior-Level Protective Design Engineer to join our Building Design Group in our location office.
We are a nationally recognized, top 125 Architecture and Engineering firm and Mid-Atlantic Engineering Firm of the Year.
Come join our collaborative team of engineers and architects on a variety of challenging projects including building design (mission critical/secure spaces) and site design (perimeter security/entry control facilities).
WRA has a strong mentoring culture and a focus on staff development.
Serve as lead protective designer through concept studies, final design, and construction phase services for clients across a broad range of markets, including DoD, Federal/Local Government and Industrial.
Coordinate between disciplines, interface with project stakeholders, and participate in quality control processes to ensure each project is successfully completed.
Responsibilities:
Review client-specific protective design criteria and develop comprehensive strategies to address protective design requirements in planning studies and design projects.
Coordinate with other design disciplines to integrate protective design solutions on building and site design projects.
Develop a wide range of protective design solutions (AT/FP, SCIF, perimeter security, vehicle entry control points, CPTED, blast/ballistic resistance, electronic security systems, etc.
) in support of a varied client base.
Develop construction documents (drawings and specifications) based on established protective design criteria.
Provide oversight and quality control of protective design reports and construction documents.
Review SOWs and develop in-house proposals for protective design efforts.
Qualifications:

years of relevant experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture Experience with industry-wide security criteria (Department of Defense, Inter-agency Security Committee, etc.
) Experience with concept studies, design documents, and construction phase services Proficient with Microsoft Office products Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills U.
S.
Citizenship is required Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance Additional
Qualifications:
Licensed Professional Engineer or Architect preferred.
ASIS Protective Design Professional (PSP) certification preferred
