00 Sign-OnThe Acute Care NP of Neurosurgery works within the acute care hospital setting in collaboration with a vibrant team of neurosurgeons, residents, and APPs in a highly rewarding academic hospital setting.
No nights, no call, and no OR requirement.
Responsibilities include:
inpatient care, patient education, collaboration with consulting specialists, maintaining communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary health care teams, and precepting students.
Primarily care for adult patients with various neurosurgical conditions including spinal disease, tumors/cancer, hydrocephalus, cerebrovascular disease, neurotrauma, and stereotactic/functional neurosurgery.
The APP is an integral part of the care team.

Full time (40 hours)Key Accountabilities:

Evaluates the health condition of patients in providing safe, comprehensive clinical care 2.
Application of evidence based medicine pertinent to patients and their families to improve outcomes 3.
Advances the knowledge of the inter-professional team through leading training and development programs to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes 4.
Continuously evaluates the relationships among access, cost, quality, safety and their influence on healthcare outcomes 5.
Provides leadership in the translation of new knowledge and evidence based care into practice 6.
Constant consideration of developmental level of patients when translating health information to support positive health outcomes.
7.
The NP demonstrates understanding of internal and external NP practice rules, regulations and legislation to maintain compliance and certification.
8.
Serves as an advocate for the needs of the patients across the health care continuum ensuring the best patient/family experience and to advance pediatric health throughout the community we serve.
9.
Integrates ethical principles in decision making.
Qualifications:
Completion of Master's Degree in Science for Nursing Licensure:
Current Maryland licensure as a Acute Care NP, along with CDS (prescription) and DEA (narcotics) licensure Current BLS CPR - Healthcare provider and ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross accepted) Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership Systems (PECOS) enrollment required for Medicare ordering purposesJohns Hopkins Health System and its affiliates are drug-free workplace employers.
