Summary:
Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Financial Analyst is responsible for the job costing process to be used for budget and forecast purposes and preparing financial information for executive review.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Prepare financial information, including monthly financial reporting; develop insightful reports, including using tables and graphs, for executive review.
Prepare analyses for the company, clients, and job variances, comparing results to budget and prior year.
Create and maintain client and job revenue/cost tracking estimates to be used for calculating expected margin by working with the company estimating team to understand the revenue/cost relationship.
Support the annual budget process, ensuring accuracy and financial rigor; assist in analysis of the current year-end result, working closely with leadership.
Analyze trends in the business and generate insights to drive business performance improvement.
Identify and size potential revenue and cost opportunities across the organization.
Provide monthly revenue forecasts and variance (favorable/unfavorable) analysis; clearly and concisely communicate financial information to non-financial leadership.
Support a regular forecast process by working with cross-departmental teams to estimate financial results based on future action plans and business assumptions.
Complete ad hoc reports or analyses in support of special projects.
Serve as the resident expert for financial and data modeling.
Perform deep-dive analytics on various items and business activities.
Anticipate the organization's analytical needs and act proactively.
Act as an internal consultant, improving processes and efficiency across the organization.
Provide support with internal reporting needs (developing new reporting template and enhancing current reporting).
Assist in the evaluation of future planning tools.
Research, learn and implement business intelligence software intended to make us smarter and provide better visibility into our operating performance.
Streamline systems to improve ability to analyze complex data.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:

Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (i.
e.
, pivot tables, lookups, building advanced formulas, etc.
).
2-3 years of functional experience in financial accounting, financial analysis, financial modeling, planning & forecasting.
Fundamental knowledge of income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement financials.
