The Facilities Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility.
This person will ensure that the facility is well maintained and functioning properly to meet company standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and will be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other team members.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Facilities & Building Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring facilities and operations support our organization's educational mission and vision.
The DFO is responsible for leading the school's day-to-day operations, ensuring that it runs efficiently and that all school community members have the necessary resources to succeed (such as equipment, supplies, recordkeeping, and a safe and supportive work environment).
This position supervises the School Operations Contractors.
ESSENTIAL JOB ACTIVITIES AND
Responsibilities:
Facilities:
Manages and oversees the upkeep of the school's facilities and coordinates with the Chief Executive Officer to implement school facility projects and maintenance; manages vendor relationships to ensure that maintenance, janitorial, and pest control services are properly carried out.
Works with the facilities committee on long-range campus planning.
Manage in-house and contracted facilities, custodial, and security staff to ensure the upkeep and improvement of our 60,000-square-foot building and grounds.
Establish and enforce safety protocols, including security camera systems, building access control, and staff key distribution and management.
Conduct regular building inspections, maintain licenses, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
Develop and maintain operational manuals, building maintenance plans, and preventative maintenance schedules.
Coordinate and manage summer repair and cleaning projects with the School Leadership Team and Director of School Operations.
Promote community stewardship of the building and grounds, including projects like implementing recycling and composting practices.
Capital Improvements Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer to develop and execute capital improvement projects that enhance our facilities and align with LMCJ's mission, vision, and strategic plan.
Manage building improvement and construction projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
Oversee custodial contracted services for daily cleaning, maintenance, and larger projects during school breaks and summers.
Maintain relationships with contracted vendors, general contractors, HVAC maintenance providers, and building janitorial services.
Manage the procurement process for contracted building services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Custodial
Responsibilities:
Supervise the custodial team, assigning tasks and ensuring the daily cleaning and maintenance of the building.
Oversee custodial supplies budgeting and ordering, maintaining an inventory of facilities supplies and attic stock.
Vendor Management & Relationships:
Initiate work orders, estimate budgets, and schedule repairs or preventative maintenance with vendors and contractors.
Review and approve invoices for completed work.
Manage relationships with contracted service providers, such as general contractors, HVAC maintenance, and building janitorial services.
Safety and Risk Management:
Ensuring adequate coverage and compliance with safety protocols.
Develop and communicate emergency plans, conduct drills, and maintain up-to-date building plans with emergency routes.
Manage the building security system, including visitor management, cameras, door access, and alarms.
Act as Incident Commander during emergencies, leading fire, lockdown, and shelter-in-place drills.
IT Responsible for IT procurement and vendor/consultant management.
Monitor inventory and deployment of Chromebooks, staff devices, and copy equipment.
Community Relations Plans and coordinates logistics for school-wide events and activities including parent meetings, concerts, and special events.
Develops policies and strategy for facility revenue generation.
