The Johns Hopkins Hospital's Nelson 8 is a 23-bed medical floor, with capacity for 10 patients requiring telemetry.
Staff on the unit care for a mix of complex medical patients, including pulmonary, endocrine, GI, renal, cardiac, and neuro.
On the unit, you will gain experience with continuous drips & IV titrations for antiarrhythmics, dopamine, nitroglycerin, heparin, and PCA pumps.
The unit is very supportive of new staff.

12 Hour Day Shifts
Qualifications:
oHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredoActive Nursing Assistant Certification in Maryland is requiredo1 year of acute care (in-hospital) tech experience within the most recent 2 years is required (EMT or CRT experience may be considered)oBLS CPR certification required:
AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network acceptedClinical Technicians at The Johns Hopkins Hospital have the opportunity to provide highly skilled and compassionate patient- and family-centered care as contributing members of the healthcare team.
Ongoing education is provided to all Clinical Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice.
During your first year, you will have the opportunity to attend eight days of training off the unit, which provide interactive learning activities to support your personal and professional development.
