LABORATORY TECHNICIAN - SINAI HOSPITAL
JOB
Summary:
Under supervision, receives and processes patient's specimens (blood, urine, spinal and other fluids) for laboratory testing.
Serves as the front line representative of the laboratory.
Communicates effectively with members of patient care team and other hospital staff
Receives and processes specimens sent to the laboratory and maintains appropriate records and documentation
Thoroughly investigates and resolves test order and specimen discrepancies
Develops effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and physicians
Completes competency and performance improvement exercises and assists with training of new employeesREQUIREMENTS:
Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School Diploma; GED equivalent or High School Certificate.
Less than 1 year of experience required - previous experience in laboratory setting is a plus
Schedule - Full Time Night Shift, with weekend rotation.
10 pm - 6:
30 am Recommended Skills Communication Health Care Performance Improvement Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
