Additional Duties:

Responsible for prompt and proper action in all matters pertaining to court security and related duties; 2.
Searches courtrooms prior to court commencing, during court recesses and at the conclusion of the court docket; 3.
Operates metal detector/security devices; 4.
Observes spectators, witnesses, victims, and defendants to prevent or quell any disturbances that may occur; 5.
Takes charge of defendants ordered to pay court costs or takes into custody persons directed by the court to be incarcerated; 6.
Maintains control of any prisoners in their custody; 7.
Carries out orders and directive of the Judge; 8.
Completes court paperwork and serves processes when necessary; 9.
Performs other duties as assigned.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
