The Compliance Specialist is responsible for making sure that all of the property's files are complying with company policies and procedures; Property Regulatory Agreements and other organizational documents; and all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
The Compliance Specialist reports to the Property Manager.
Essential Functions The Compliance Specialist must be available to work five days a week from 8:
30 am until 5:
00 at the property.
The Compliance Specialist must be able to walk to all floors at their property, including basements and attics, where accessible.
The Compliance Specialist must have a properly licensed vehicle they can use, possess a valid Maryland Driver's License, and have a good driving record, as defined by the company.
General Duties Answer phones and greet visitors File Compliance- The Compliance Specialist ensures that tenant files are in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and regulatory requirements.
The Compliance Specialist is in their site office to review move-in certifications and annual certifications of income, interim certifications and assets to ensure timely compliance with the regulatory documents, and federal and State guidelines for the certification of incomes.
Reviews and corrects tenant files to ensure they are neat and orderly and that all documentation, applications, leases and renewals, certifications and re-certifications and required tenant information are properly maintained.
Maintain excellent customer service standards with all residents, applicants, prospective applicants, owners, and regulators The Compliance Specialist shall identify trends in the market The Compliance Specialist shall prepare and complete action plans for leasing Process applications for qualified applicants following company tenant selection criteria, using proper application forms.
Prepare certifications of income and assets of each new applicant confirming the eligibility of the applicant to occupy the unit in accordance with the regulatory documents, and federal and State guidelines for the certification of income Education The Compliance Specialist must have a high school diploma.
