Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Health System Operations the Director of Operations, Perioperative Services will be responsible for administrative and operational activities of all Health System level perioperative programs and activities.
This role will be responsible for, but not limited to, the development and implementation of the Perioperative Playbook Committee, Johns Hopkins Periprocedural Optimization Program (JPOP), Sterile Processing, doctors' preference card harmonization, perioperative tray standardization, sterile processing integration, and perioperative safety & quality and policy and workflow harmonization.
This position will lead efficient administrative and day to day operational aspects of all perioperative programs and activities through various interactions across a matrix organization to include entity leaders and managers at JHHS and SOM.
Responsible for the planning and program development of all health system perioperative programsin coordination with administrative leadership, physician leaders, and program Medical Directors in accordance with and incorporating the pillars of the Johns Hopkins Medicine strategic plan, including:
development of faculty and staff, patient and family centered care, education of health care professionals and patients/families, integration with other academic departments, and financial performance/value-based care.
Develop a governance model, leadership structure, staffing levels and job descriptions for health system programs in coordination with all stakeholders and at the director of the perioperative executive committee.
Coordinates and communicates operational policies and procedures with all team members and across any JHHS or JHU clinical practice sites.
The Director is responsible for leading all JHM perioperative integration projects across JHHS and JHU.
This includes, within areas of accountability, setting and meeting goals, staffing, capital planning (facilities and technology), information systems management, and statistical/financial reporting.
The Director will coordinate, within areas of accountability, quality management programs throughout Perioperative Services in order to meet JCAHO, CMS, HIPAA and other regulatory requirements and to ensure the provision of the highest quality patient care.
The position is responsible for leading a culturally diverse staff, developing performance improvement indicators with variance explanations and implementation plans for improvements.
The role monitors statistical data and develops tracking mechanisms for productivity standards for optimal support, while creating an organizational climate built on mutual trust and transparency that encourages diversity of thought and teamwork.
Education &
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business, health care administration or related field is required.
Master's degree preferred A minimum of five years in hospital/healthcare administration preferably in an academic medical center or in private practice with a firm understanding of healthcare, clinical operations, and business planning.
Experience should include responsibility for performance improvement, organizational development and change management.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
