About the Position:
Our Client, located in Reisterstown, MD, since 1938, they serve the major metropolitan areas on the East Coast with dry, frozen, and refrigerated retail and institutional specialty groceries.
Servicing national and regional chain stores, large institutional accounts, independent grocers, specialty/gourmet stores, delis, restaurants, nursing homes, hospitals, and schools, they are a unique, specialty food distributor, and one of the last local family owned and operated food distribution companies in the country.
Receivable Specialist.
The position interacts with customers to obtain information and coordinate the flow of sales orders.
You will be responsible for timely and accurate processing of invoices and customer payments, resolving issues, calling customers, developing customer relationships, and following up on payment discrepancies.
If you have excellent computer skills, are skilled at maintaining data on web-based applications, are a self-starter, customer service oriented, detail oriented and accurate, this may be the role for you! This is an excellent entry level job for someone interested in accounting.
What You Will Be Doing:
Perform daily invoicing as part of a team of individuals.
Reconcile, balance, and post invoices daily.
Research invoicing and payment discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of Manager and other staff.
Draft correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collection; identify delinquent accounts by reviewing accounts and call delinquent accountholders for payment.
Prepare reports regarding current account status, use resources effectively, arrange information and files in an orderly manner and meet deadlines.
Reconcile accounts receivable accounts on a monthly basis.
Copy, file, and retrieve materials for accounts receivable as needed.
Other duties as needed/assigned.
What You Need:
High school diploma and minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting experience required.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical staff.
Strong math, analytical and Excel skills.
Experience with Microsoft Suite and Microsoft accounting software.
Experience with web-based applications is a plus.
Superior problem solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent detail-orientation, accuracy, and organization skills.
Must be a self-starter and demonstrate initiative.
Regular attendance and punctuality.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, high volume environment.
Benefits and Perks:
Pay:
$16.
00 to $16.
50 an hour.
Work Schedule/Hours are:
Monday - Friday, 8:
00am to 5:
00pm.
