Summary:
The Hopkins USA Staff Assistant is responsible for receiving inbound contacts (calls, emails, faxes, web inquiries, etc.
) from patients and physicians requesting services within Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions and processing new inquiries, assigning requests to Medical Concierges and Senior Medical Concierges, while ensuring timely and accurate data entry into EPIC CRM and performing other administrative duties assigned.
Other responsibilities include answering patient's non-clinical questions, providing timely and accurate information when responding to customer inquiries and utilizing good judgment in triaging and documenting customer calls.
It is critical that this position provide high quality customer service on every call to satisfy the customer, maintain the professional image of JHM and promote teamwork to maintain a seamless customer experience.
Additional responsibilities include performing Ad-Hoc projects as required by Assistant Director, Hopkins USA.
Requires a minimum of two years related experience in a health care setting, call center or similar customer service environment.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two years of college preferred.
Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and appropriate handling of medical records Demonstrates commitment to patient safety and excellent customer service practices, effective interpersonal communication and service excellence Requires proficiency on multi-line phone or ACD or similar system, information applications, such as CRM, EPIC, etc.
and any other technology applications required for the position (RightFax) Must meet call performance, schedule adherence, data accuracy and quality standards Working knowledge of medical and insurance terminology and institutional structure within the hospital preferred Require excellent verbal and written communication, professional telephone manner, interviewing and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, members of the health care team and external agencies Requires ability to work with diverse people and deal effectively with angry and/or upset customers Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
