RequirementsThe duties of the Claims Specialist include, but are not limited to;Review circumstances surrounding claims along with appropriate coverage and verbally communicate preliminary coverage opinion to the companyWork collaboratively with various third-party administrators in the investigation of claimsKeep claim files properly updated and attach documents in accordance with protocols created and set within the departmentHandle to conclusion insurance claims presented.
Duties include advocating for the client, maintaining an active diary, transmittal of documentation and follow-up correspondence to the TPA (as relevant) and companyProvide information/documentation to Claims Manager and other company personnel as requestedReview lawsuits submitted by claimants Provide reserve recommendations and analyses to the Captive ManagerHandle Account Management related inquiries and provide loss information whennecessaryPerform other duties/projects as assigned by Claims Manager from time to timeStay up-to-date on relevant local, state and federal law changes in the insurance fieldRequirements and
Qualifications:

Commercial Lines claims experience; claims processing in the captive space beneficial Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and exceptional interpersonal communication skillsProficient computer skills, in particular Microsoft Office suiteAbility to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast paced, changing environmentPossess the ability to provide superior customer service Possess excellent client advocacy and negotiation skills Exceptional organizational and time-management skillsThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
