2K a year 14 days ago 14 days ago 14 days ago Job Description Grace is seeking an Operations Supervisor to join our Specialty Catalyst Plant Team! This role reports to our Operations Manager and is located at our Curtis Bay Site.
Responsibilities Directly supervises employees in the specialty chemicals manufacturing setting.
Assure regulatory compliance, including environmental and process safety, and a safe workplace for all employees.
Address hazards, deviations, and injuries in a timely manner.
Analyzes production to estimate worker hours and create production schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
Responsible for start-up, shutdown and normal process operation to include manual operation of the process using field controls.
Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety standards.
Identifies and reports or resolves hazards.
Directs response to emergency situations to include emergency shutdown procedures.
Coaches and counsels operations personnel in the assignment of duties.
Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
Inspects and measures product to verify conformance to specifications.
Utilizes quality control system, SPC and response charts to implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
Analyzes and resolves production issues to include enforcing labor relation's policies and resolving grievances.
Physical Requirements and Environment Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator Required Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
3
year's supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
Must be able to work 12-hour shift work to include both days, nights and weekends.
Demonstrated experience with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.
Previous experience with appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and conflict resolution Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated leadership ability to direct and motivate employees Demonstrated ability to act in a safe manner and teach employees on safety standards.
Proficient in MS Office.
