The Arc Baltimore Foster Care Social Worker acts as the treatment team leader and takes primary responsibility for the delivery of therapeutic interventions to youth ages 0-21, clinical and case management support and consultation to foster children's parents, birth families, and to Department of Social Services statewide, and community-based services team members involved in providing services to the children in care.

Engage in child and family intake assessment and initial coordination of services upon entry into the program.
Maintain a clinical caseload not to exceed 10 children and to provide overall support and therapeutic care for these children in collaboration with their foster parents.
Develop and collaborate quarterly treatment plans with team members.
Conduct on-going clinical assessment of the child's progress and needs and provide written documentation of the services needed on a quarterly basis.
Coordinate and advocate for the provision of community services, per the service plan, and provide clinical assistance to community service providers as needed.
Plan and facilitate periodic meetings to ensure the execution of goals as outlined in the child's service plan.
Maintain case files and documentation for children, foster families, and biological families in accordance with state regulations and agency policies in an approved electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Maintain regular contact with the Department of Social Services (DSS) and other care providers on the child's treatment team.
Provide quarterly written updates as to the child's progress.
Provide consultation and support to foster parents using psycho-education approaches related to trauma informed care, mindfulness, and crisis intervention approaches.
Provide clinical interventions consistent with cognitive-behavioral treatment approaches, training foster parents on the clinical needs of the child, and as appropriate.
Education & Experience Licensed Bachelors Social Worker (LBSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) in the State of Maryland.
Experience working in human services preferred.
Must have solid foundation of clinical skills.
Excellent oral communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and database maintenance.
Working Conditions Mobile work environment, including community and office work.
Responsible for on-call coverage on a rotational basis with other program staff required.
Periodic nights, evenings and weekends are required.
Maryland driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Occasional mild physical demands.
Job Type:
Full-time.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
