Summary:
This position is responsible for facilitating the onboarding of new Talent members while managing new hire pre-employment; CPS initial background checks; filing; reference checks; Compliance with COMAR regulations; ADP maintenance and updates.

What does this job do specifically?
Essential Functions:
Models and acts in accordance with BCC's core values.
Schedules and holds Pre-employment meetings.
Onboards new staff in ADP by adding new employees in the payroll system.
Runs OIG fraud verifications monthly reports for new hires.
Maintains human resource forms, materials and supplies and assembles information packets for orientation and other events for Baltimore, DC and Denton.
Submits and tracks all CPS requests and results for new hires.
Follow up with DHR contacts to see that requests are processed in a timely manner.
Processes New Hire Driving Records.
Processes employment verifications for existing and previous employees of the agency.
Assists with gathering information for reports needed by internal and external departments.
Processes updates to employee demographic information, tax reporting, and HR requirement information in Payroll system.
Contacts payroll vendor, in accordance with the Finance Department and CHRO to address concerns or questions in relation to payroll system set-up, functionality, capabilities, and processing as it pertains to enrolling new employees in the HRIS system.
Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
Responds to employee inquiries regarding items addressed in the Talent handbook and HR Policy Manual.
Assists in providing support related to HR functions, to Administrative Assistants and Business Coordinator at offsite locations.
Maintains new hire checklist that includes when new hires complete the following:
drug screen, physical, TB, fingerprints, driving records, CPS (in and out of state), employee ID number, supervisor and location.

This is a full-time position.
Standard operating hours are generally between Monday through Friday, 8:

to 5 p.
m.
This position may require work hours to include occasional evenings, and on-site and off-site attendance at meetings.
Leave is available by going through the prescribed leave request process.
Employees are denoted as non-essential for emergencies and inclement weather notices.
What experience and education do I need? Required Education and Experience High School graduate or AA degree holder with 4 or more years of experience working in an office environment.
Or Bachelor's degree with 2 or more years of experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
