Under the supervision of a Social Worker (LCSW-C), the Social Worker applies theories, knowledge, procedures, methods, and/or ethics derived from a formal educational program in social work to provide mental health and behavioral support to the early childhood population (0-5 years) at the Historic Samuel Coleridge-Taylor (HSCT) and the community of Promise Heights . The individual will receive referrals from teachers for students in the General Student population to identify emotional and social strengths and needs to determine optimal interventions that promote school readiness for children from birth to the age of 5. He/she will support families in their ability to encourage their child's early learning.

Essential Functions:
Assess risk by screening and interviewing clients. Identify and construct service plans that best meet the client's needs, and determine best resources available.
Develop plans by identifying programs and services available for a variety client issues dealing with challenges, change, and crisis.
Maintain case history records and document client(s) progress. May perform chart reviews and generates notes on evaluations, therapy sessions, reports and other accountability measures.
Provide training, guidance, and support to others preparing for use of resources.
Counsel individuals, groups, families, or communities regarding issues including mental health, poverty, unemployment, substance abuse, physical abuse, rehabilitation, social adjustment, child care, and/or medical care.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work
Licensed as Graduate Social Work - (LGSW) in the State of Maryland
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of best practices in the field as well as relevant federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and programs/policies utilizing proper application of diagnostic tools
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interact with a diverse client population using various approved interviewing techniques and consultative approaches
Ability to independently construct comprehensive assessments.
Ability to use measurable and verifiable information for resolving problems and facilitating decision-making processes.
Excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to manage situations with tact, diplomacy, understanding, and fairness. Ability to maintain confidentiality of clients and information obtained during treatment.
Demonstrated leadership ability and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with professional standards, HIPAA (Health Information Portability & Accountability Act) and FERPA (Family Education Rights and Privacy Act) and state regulations.
Ability to independently review and authorize documentation of others for reimbursement or grant submissions.
Ability to work as part of a team, as well as with individuals and/or families from diverse ethnic, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds
Proficient in information technology word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Hiring Range: Commensurate with education and experience

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
