The Credit Card Technician works within the Division of Finance of the Maryland Transportation Authority assisting the Purchasing Card section in a variety of general accounting duties. This position will be responsible for preparing correct journal entries, reviewing purchasing card logs for accuracy of data input and standard requirements, and reconciling purchasing card logs. This position will also be responsible for general ledger reconciliations, to include verifying that Purchasing Card Clearing Account balances to zero and determining when corrective action is appropriate for reconciliations. The Credit Card Technician assists and trains staff members in various data entry tasks and reports directly to the Credit Card Administrator.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications :
Education : Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.
For education obtained outside the U.S. , you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service.
Experience : Two years of experience in administrative or professional work. 6 months of this experience must include reviewing, recording, and balancing financial transactions.

Selective Qualifications are utilized when the position requires specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (i.e., knowledge, skills or abilities).
The ideal candidate will possess the following :
General Ledger experience
Experience with preparing journal entries
Data entry experience

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
