Summary:
Under the direction of the A/R Manager, performs all tasks necessary to bill and collect for ambulance services with a variety of payers.

Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.Previous2 years medical billing experiencerequired.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively to groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Claims editing and submission to insurance carriers.
Posting payments.
Collating, filing, sorting documentation.
Quality assurance procedures and compliance with regulatory authorities.
Assisting clients with billing questions, claims submissions, and resolving similar customer service issues.
Researching and processing claims for payments.
Telephoning clients, facilities, and other entities to research payment issues and to ensure optimal collections.
May not be concurrently employed by any other ambulance service or any other entity that could pose a conflict.
Must maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information pertaining to company policies, pricing, contract terms, patient data, forms, manuals, charts, or any other sensitive or confidential information obtained while employed at LifeStar.
Due to the extremely sensitive nature of this position, this duty of strict confidentiality extends beyond the term of employment.
Other duties as assigned by the A/R Manager.
Reports to and is supervised by the A/R Manager.

Full time, generally weekdays.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
