Accounting Specialist

A local Science and Research client has an Accounting position available. This is for a medium sized company located in a nice, new building near the city. The company culture is warm and friendly; however, the overall atmosphere of the work day is quiet. You must be able to be independent and take initiative to get your work done. The pay is between $50-60k a year and this is a direct hire position.
The customers of the company are anywhere from scientists to students to managers or analysts. You would be supporting all activities relating to Accounting and assisting the Director of Finance.
Some of the duties would involve:
- Preparing and reconciling company and subdivision accounts utilizing the general ledger
- Preparing income/expense postings
- Recording bank entries, wire transfers, fees, chargeback items, etc.
- Reconciliations
- A/R and A/P
- Preparing assigned schedules for annual audit
- Other accounting and administrative duties as directed
Working hours: standard business hours
Requirements include:
- Great Plains Software experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suit
- 3 years of experience in the accounting or related field
- Bachelor's degree required
- Excellent data entry skills
- Effective communication skills
