The candidate will be advising the business on all aspects of federal and state consumer lending laws and regulations, particularly focusing on consumer protection legislation, credit bureau reporting, and privacy. Should have a Juris Doctor degree, must be licensed to practice law and a lawyer in good standing in the state that license was acquired. Must be junior lawyer with 1
years of experience in law firm or corporate setting preferably in the areas of banking, corporate or consumer finance. Strong working knowledge and experience with federal and provincial consumer lending laws and banking regulations preferred. Should have ability to analyze and evaluate statutes and regulations and to determine their impact to the business. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are essential. French language skills helpful.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
